Beardie Hatchlings

Post by St3ve76 on Mon Jul 20, 2009 7:14 am

My first clutch of baby beardies started hatching last night.

But the first one to come out didn't move until this morning is this normal ?

Last year my house was coming down with the little dustbins! Some of them can become quite tired getting out of the egg depending where it was in the incubator the shell can be quite hard compared to other eggs and so in getting out they use up alot of energy. You will probably find the others to come out will either be quite calm or wanting to bite you! I had one, the smallest of the whole clutch just sat with its mouth open and ran at you as soon as you put ur hand in to move it into a viv! It was a sight indeed!

Thanks. I never realised that lizards come out with their eyes closed.
