Is love in the air???
After waiting quite a few months for our female beardie to mature we finally put Phoenix in with our male Gizzmo.
There had been a lot of waving and head bobbing to each other across the room but the actual get together was a bit of an anti climax. He pinned her once but didn't go any further and since then they have co habited in a friendly way with nothing else happening that we have seen.
At the moment he seems to prefer displaying to the better half more than his beardie partner, is there any evidence that beardies can become imprinted on humans?

Re: Is love in the air???
They look a lovely couple !!!
It might be the female isn't ready to breed.
Also beardies normally start breeding in the spring.

Just a quick update, love very definitely was in the air as Phoenix laid 19 eggs on the 7th September. So far all the eggs look good with just one exception, it is still quite white but a lot smaller than the rest, I suppose time will tell. We did witness several matings though they did seem to prefer to do it on the carpet
rather than in their viv._________________

Specially for Tommy and June!
The big day has finally arrived and our baby beardies have started to hatch (only 59 days since they were laid), so far three have hatched completely and another one has its head well out of the egg. As before we still think one egg is infertile (its the lefthand one in the pics
One out and another on its way

Three out another 16 to go!

While taking the pics one little guy made a break for freedom but was then quite happy to sit on Nikkis hand

Latest update:- all 18 fertile eggs have now hatched, one egg which we were pretty sure was infertile is left in the incubator, we will give it another few days but are not very hopeful, still 18 hatched out of 19 eggs is not bad! will post some more pics in a day or two when they have settled into their new home.

Here are a few more pics of our new babies and their setup. In total 18 babies hatched from 18 good eggs, the one we were unsure about turned out to be infertile!

These three have been booked especially for Raymond
How could you separate them?
