Re: Exo Terra Halogen Lamps
Heya, ye I have used alot of these things before and they're very handy, BUT, if they get even the slightest of knocks or even gentle vibration the little fittings in them go (which is a real pain).
Pros:
Quick and last ages!
Cons :
Fragile beyond belief!
The Mercury Vapour bulbs are probably the coolest things out there (but not cheap), if I was gonna get one I'd get the ZooMed PowerSun ones, that give out UVA and UVB. As I said not cheap, but they work out the same price as getting all the fixures and fittings for the others and they do last absolutely AGES, the UVB output barely dips at all in 11 months (certainly well up into the 130's for ages) and will lower down to about (110) after that, but it'll still be pumping out major heat and UVB until the day it pops!

Hope that sheds some LIGHT on the matter :P (terrible pun i know)
