Lizard ID

OK you lizard folk, as far as I know the above [and below] animals are flap Necked Chameleons, both shots [of average quality] were taken in Zambia traveling from Lusaka to Livingstone and Vic Falls. This Chameleon is found all over sub saharan African and is a common find on field trips. Quick tip to locating these guys....drive any stretch of rural road between 5am and 10am and chances are you'll see one or two of these awkwardly negotiating a road crossing - avoid chameleon...screech to a halt...and collect specimen...easy! Better still get out in the evenings and armed with a good head torch scour small trees, scrub and bushes and you'll likely spot several, they stand out in an almost unnatural lime green against local foliage. Interesting critters!

A few lizards below...I'm guessing the they are Agamas of some sort...what's your verdict?

Lizard shot in Cameroon, W. Africa

Lizard shot in Guinea Bissau, W.Africa

Lizard shot in Ghana, W.Africa.
So come on then let's have some accurate identification and a little info on these guys.
PS For those of you eagle eyed forum folk, yes the shirt I'm wearing is the same as some other country locations, however, freshly laundered.....promise!!!
Best,
Tony

Re: Lizard ID
Right, I'll chance my arm at it!
First guy is clearly a Chameleon although I don't know the exact sub-species, I've only ever worked with Yemens (Vailed).
So thats a fail! :P
The second guy with the wicked head is some kind of Agama (although there are millions of them!)
And the last guy is a Mwanza Rock Agama, probably one of the coolest agamas you can get because of their weird colour changing abilities! They're fast as hell tho! :P

Re: Lizard ID
Good for you, it's nice to get folk out of the woodwork!
...I was wondering when a lizard guru would have a stab at this!!
The chameleon is commonly called the Flap Necked Chameleon [Chamaeleo dilepsis] the next 3 I figure are all Agamas, the last two are most likely Common Agamas, also known as Red Headed Rock or Rainbow Agamas [Agama agama] the 4th photo likely a young female and the 5th a mature male.
The Mwanze Flat headed Agama [Agama mwanzae] you refer to is also widespread through sub-saharan Africa, however, can almost certainly be discounted in this case, A.mwanzae is a beautiful red and almost electric blue colour combo...awesome!
Did you have any thoughts on the 3rd photo....I'm guessing Agama again....what do you reckon?

Re: Lizard ID
Ye, its another agama, although I haven't a clue which kind, I've only resently started working on these guys, so I just know the bare minimum about them.
