Domino and Inca
Well after several months researching, planning and building a new viv, our two Argentinian black and white tegus have finally arrived. We purchased a 'high rise' bed for our son and built a 6' 6" x 3' x 3' viv underneath, it was our intention to only purchase the male as he was the most handable, but when the time came we just couldn't leave the female behind on her own. They had always been very close, lying on top of each other etc, we will probably have to build another viv to accommodate them at a later date although someone on another forum said that 6' 6" is big enough if you multi storey the inside of the viv and also let them out to get plenty of exercise.
These are our first few pics (all taken through the glass) as we haven't handled or wanted to disturb them until they have settled in. So far so good and if their appetite is anything to go by they have made themselves at home already.
Meet Domino the male

No its playbark chippings, there seems to be a lot of differences in opinion as to what is best for Tegus so we went with what the majority favoured.

The cypress mulch is lovely to look at, I just went with plain old eco earth and bark chips half and half it was what mine was used too. Best of luck again they are lovely animals!
