New spid

Post by snakeboyadam2k8 on Sun Jul 26, 2009 6:12 pm

Thought that you might like to see a pic of our latest tarantula its a Mexican blond Aphonopelma chalcodes Its already settled in well and devouring locusts at a rate you could not imagine!

Not to be outdone our Brazilian Black has just moulted and is now back to eating large locusts by the handfull.
As you can see it has a large area of web in front of its lair and you only have to drop an insect (dead or alive) onto the web and it rushes out and grabs it. It then retreats into its lair to eat it.

We also have some slings which we are getting used to being handled,
A Chilean Rose (RCF)

and a Chaco Golden Knee

I've been after a Chalcodes for a while now. Where did you find that one?

Hi
The spidershop has both juveniles and adults at the moment, their web site is well worth visiting regularly as they get new stuff in every month or so. We have had a few slings from them before and all have done really well.
Regards
John

Thanks for that, was watching for them on there for a while but Lee never seemed to get them in. Haven't looked at his site in a while though, will have a nose.
