No he is not mine belongs to a friend of mine......i have kept hots in the past namely

green mambas
cape cobras
bush cobras
vine snakes ( twig snakes)
puff adders
snouted cobras

jeez there are a few more i am how ever going to build up my collection again in time but in the meantime if there is anything anyone wants to know about Soyth African species of snakes be they venomous or non venomous feel free to ask away.

Wow, you've definitely got a lot more guts than I do - I like venomous snakes when they're behind a couple of layers of thick glass They are completely fascinating animals though, I'm looking forward to seeing any new additions to get in the future Blackmamba Have you any immediate plans on what to get?

yes i do at my local petshop they have just had a clutch of captive bred puffies (puff adders ) come in and i am deff going to get me one of those....and once i have moved into my new house then i will be setting up a complete reptile room with a few of my faves like the cape cobra and the bush cobra.they are such lovely snakes.

Lovely pics there. Where in SA are you? I used to live in Zims. We had a few cobras there, mostly banded cobras. There was a naturalist there named Viv Wilson, he was quite well known in southern africa. He had a reptile zoo in Bulawayo and had a fine colection of snakes and lizzards. I dread to think what has happened to places like that now.

I am in johannesburg for now...will be moving to ballito pretty soon.

i've 2 capes they are wonderful snakes.very graceful and cheeky!and very smart too may i add!
