8 feisty, bitey baby Colombian Rainbow Boas. It was the first clutch from my girl Nyoka who I have had from a newborn. Happy days

Definitely. Go anywhere near them and there is 8 heads striking in unison. I have the teeth marks to prove it, lol

Yeahh i was well chuffed when I got home and found them, it was unexpected given the time of year. As far as I know, they are the same as other boas and should give birth in the spring. The only thing that I can think is that the snake room is at a fairly constant temp so the may not have noticed the temp drop, they would have noticed the shorter days though. Perhaps our resident boa expert Warren could shed some light on it.

It was her first succesfull breeding. She did pass about 12 unfertilised ova in March 08. I put that down to putting the male in too late or possibly him not being matured. I was hoping that they would produce this year but had given up hope as it was so late in the year. So yes I was very suprised to find the babies in there. They are all very feisty so it seems that they are ok despite their unseasonal arrival

Not sure that I have the space to keep many of them. I have a few of them that are spoken for but havent decided on the others yet to be honest.
